A great tool that photogrammetry offers us is the calculation of volumes of excavation, filling, storage, etc. materials. especially when these are amorphous and irregular, it only takes a few minutes once the orthophoto is obtained.
We put as a comparative example the process to calculate this stored gravel mound for which it is inverted and the following is obtained:
WITH PHOTOGRAMMETRY
Flight time = 2 minutes
Processing time for orthophoto = 5 minutes
Points earned: 61,728 Points
VOLUME OBTAINED = 840.43 M3
WITH TOTAL STATION
Survey time in the field = 50 minutes
Points earned = 50 Points
VOLUME OBTAINED = 743.35 M3
